Are You Cured?
"That evening, at sundown, they brought to him all who were sick or possessed with demons. And the whole city was gathered around the door. And he cured many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons; and he would not permit the demons to speak, because they knew him." - Mark 1:32-34
As Jesus continued through his ministry, he encountered all kinds of people. He healed them and cast out demons. Jesus came to bring wholeness, and he also came to bring light to the darkness.
When I think of demons, I have a tendency to think of scary movies or television shows. I think of darkness, uncertainty, and fear. Jesus came to change that — to bring light to darkness, to be a source of hope and love, that our uncertainty and fear would diminish.
We all face times of darkness in our lives, whether through situations at home, school, times of loss or change. The comfort we can find through faith in Christ will not make those situations disappear, but it will help us remember that we are not alone.
