The Lord's Unfailing Love
"Rend your hearts and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God. For He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and He relents from sending calamity. Who knows? He may turn and have pity and leave behind a blessing–grain offerings and drink offerings for the Lord your God." - Joel 2:13-14
As I grow older, paying attention to my health and food habits is becoming increasingly more important. I try to exercise regularly because I want to stay healthy. I want a healthy heart.
On the other hand, how is my spiritual health? Is my spiritual heart healthy? Is there sin that needs to be cleaned up?
Joel is warning the Israelites to rend their hearts or tear their hearts apart and examine them. Is there anything that I need to repent? Thankfully, God is slow to anger. He is compassionate.
Sometimes I am slow to repent.
Think how our country could change and receive such blessings from God if people conducted heart checks! How’s your heart today?
