Litany of Call

The Voice calling long ago.
The Voice calling today.

The Voice compelling Jonah to go.
The Voice compelling us to go.

The Voice calling to Jonah
compelling him to share the good news
of God's redemptive love.
The Voice calling to us
compelling us to share the good news
of God's redemptive love.

With those who would be his enemies.
With those who would be our enemies.

The people of Nineveh, beloved of God.
The people of Athens, Ohio, beloved of God.

The Voice calling long ago.

Prayer: 
Lord God, You called Jonah to preach the Good News of Your love and mercy to the people of Nineveh. You also call me to preach the Good News of Jesus Christ to the people of Southeast Ohio. Help me to hear Your call and obey. Amen.
